Anxiety does not have to control your life

Anxious? There’s no shame in anxiety.

Let’s get control of what we can! Release what we can’t control! If you're reading this right now, chances are you've been feeling some anxiety and you’re in search of relief!

Anxiety. It's a feeling that's hard to describe, but we all know it when we feel it. It's the knot in your stomach that makes it hard to breathe, the overwhelming sense of dread that makes you feel like you're drowning. It's the panic that starts in your chest and spreads to every part of your mind and body. Thoughts of “If I don’t get it right, what will happen? I can’t afford to fail or get this wrong! But how do I even know what ‘right’ is?”

Anxiety is a serious condition that can disrupt your life. It's not something to be ashamed of, though—it's actually quite common. In fact, at least 18% of American adults have had an anxiety disorder in their lifetime. Some symptoms may be feeling nervous, uncontrollable worry, trouble relaxing, irritability and changes in your desire to interact with others or in social environments.

If this sounds familiar, I imagine it keeps you up at night, or makes it hard for you to get out of bed in the morning—or both! But it doesn't have to be that way!

In anxiety therapy, you can expect to learn:

  • How to be more kind, and compassionate towards yourself

Personalized Approach To Anxiety Treatment

At Refined Vision, we aim to personalize our approach by using a variety of methods. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a common treatment that explores negative perspectives and interpretations of self, others and the world– focusing on thoughts, feelings and how one behaves towards anxiety-provoking situations. We utilize mindfulness and meditative practices to manage symptoms of fear and worry in the moment it's occurring and to prevent frequent heightened anxiety.

You may believe therapy can help you but you still have questions about anxiety treatment.

Does therapy provide a cure for anxiety? n short, yes and no. Anxiety is a human experience that can occur occasionally. It is also our “built in alarm system” that protects us from danger and allows us to respond to emergencies. Therapy will help to identify the source of intense worry and fear that keeps you from daily functioning and enjoying your daily life and relationships.
